Dicebound title screen with a d20 hovering over a 3D tabletop board

Dicebound

命骰远征

A roguelite dice-tactics card battler

About the project

Summon your party from a 20-card deck onto a 3D tabletop diorama with real elevation, where every attack, save and check comes down to the dice. Pick your path, collect relics and feats, and overthrow the Dicemaster who rigs fate itself.

Dicebound chases the feel of a tabletop session — cardboard standees on colored bases, events narrated by a DM, and that held breath before every roll.

It borrows the checks and high-ground rules of Baldur's Gate 3, the units-plus-cards backbone of Duelyst, the branching routes of Slay the Spire and the perfect information of Into the Breach. Hover any target to see hit chance, damage and every modifier — luck you can estimate and bend.

Rules, cards, event text, 3D scenes, effects and audio are all original. Sound effects and music are generated procedurally with WebAudio, and the title font is subset to just the glyphs the game uses.

Highlights

  1. 01

    d20 checks you can read

Hit vs AC, saves vs DC, advantage, crits and fumbles, fate-point rerolls — every modifier is broken down on screen, and real 3D dice tumble across the table.

  2. 02

    Twenty cards, hard choices

Five heroes with at least two archetypes each. Unit cards summon your squad; spells, gear and terrain cards swing the fight. With a 20-card cap, every slot is a decision.

  3. 03

    Elevation and terrain

High ground gives +2 to hit and +1 range; falls and shoves hurt; cliffs block line of sight. Oil ignites, lightning arcs through water and ice freezes lakes solid.

  4. 04

    Different every run

A three-act branching map of fights, elites, events, shops, campfires, treasure and bosses — with relics, feats, potions, card upgrades and removals, plus escalating difficulty tiers.

  5. 05

    Skirmish mode

1v1, three- or four-way free-for-alls and 2v2 — against the AI, hot-seat with friends, or just watch the AI fight itself. Comes with a deck builder.

  6. 06

    A headless rules engine

Combat is an event-driven engine that runs headless for AI balance sims and unit tests. All randomness comes from a serializable seeded RNG, so a run can be saved and resumed at any point.
